Description
My Mario Next Gen OC, Princess Sapphire, meets her original version.
Backstory:
When I was a young kid at 10, after seeing many people's own stories, I thought I'd make my own comic. However, it resulted into being a Mario rip-off: Two brothers save a princess from a monster, while having two greedy rivals pestering them. This is one of the things coming from it, Sapphire. A twin-tailed(?) princess wearing a blue dress, who acts just like Peach.
After remembering it a few years ago, I thought to myself that they should be Mario OCs instead. I turned into Sapphire to the one that some of you know, the daughter of Mario and Peach. And as you can see, she was named Sapphire because the original Sapphire's associated color is blue. She still kept the name because I thought it's a good name, even if it's very out of the ordinary for someone who's the child of Mario of all people.
The hero and the monster are also moved there, the former being Segale, her brother.

I know its your choice, but she could have a more likely identity of her own with the twin tails! 
For some reason, your idea of an "OC" Princess is pretty sound to me (take it from someone who mostly dislikes de "OC" concept, even though I'm being pushed lately to have my own).
Also, the "blue" dress color isn't something among Mario Princesses (Peach is Pink, Daisy is Yellow and Rosalina is Green-ish), so, it actually fits her as being different!
Think about it.
